The Benefits Of The Cloud
I have recently made the switch from dedicated server hosting to cloud hosting with Amazon Web Services. The customization and scalability is excellent. Customizing your own virtual private cloud opens up all kinds of options and allows for greater security as well. From hosting a single static website to a large company intranet isolated from the rest of the internet, almost anything is possible and easily scaled.
The console takes a little bit of tinkering and reading to fully grasp, but really makes implementing infrastructure in so many use cases incredibly easy. There are also plenty of helpful tutorials provided to aid in the process.
Not only is it great for hosting content to the web, it is great for the development side as well. With AWS CodeStar you are able to set up development from source to application with continuous deployment and automation in a few clicks. You can easily manage team members and even use an IDE(Cloud9)in the cloud through your browser and collaborate in real time pair programming.
There are also other options for cloud solutions such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, IBM Cloud and many more.
Amazon AWS offers free-tier services for the first year when you sign up. It is definitely worth to check out and play around if you haven’t already. Chances are you may end up liking and finding multiple uses for it.
